Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 23, 2026
Sound Advice is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. As an audiology practice that cares for patients with hearing loss, tinnitus, balance concerns, and other sensory differences every day, accessibility is more than a checkbox for us — it is a core part of how we serve our community in Burbank and the greater Los Angeles area.
We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to make our website usable for all visitors, regardless of ability.
Conformance Status
Our ongoing accessibility effort works towards conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2, level AA criteria. These guidelines not only help make web content accessible to users with sensory, cognitive and mobility disabilities, but ultimately to all users, regardless of ability.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. WCAG defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Sound Advice's website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA, meaning that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are actively working to address these areas.
Measures to Support Accessibility
Sound Advice takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of our website:
- Including accessibility as part of our design and development process for new pages and features.
- Providing clear, plain-language descriptions of audiology services so visitors who use screen readers or have cognitive differences can understand their options.
- Using sufficient color contrast, scalable text, and predictable navigation.
- Adding descriptive alternative text to images that convey meaningful information.
- Building forms — including our appointment-request and contact forms — with proper labels, focus states, and keyboard support.
- Reviewing and updating our website periodically to address accessibility issues as they are identified.
Compatibility With Browsers and Assistive Technology
Sound Advice's website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Recent versions of major web browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, on desktop and mobile devices.
- Screen readers such as VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), TalkBack (Android), NVDA, and JAWS.
- Operating system zoom, browser zoom, and text-resizing tools.
- Keyboard-only navigation, including users who rely on switches or other adaptive input devices.
The website may not perform optimally on outdated browsers or operating systems that are no longer supported by their manufacturers.
Technical Specifications
Accessibility of our website relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your device:
- HTML
- WAI-ARIA
- CSS
- JavaScript
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
Limitations and Alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed here.
- Third-party content. Some content on our website is provided by third parties — for example, embedded reviews, social media feeds, or financing partners such as CareCredit. We do not have full control over the accessibility of third-party content. If a third-party element prevents you from accessing information, please reach out and we will help you obtain that information another way.
- Older blog posts and uploaded documents. Older articles, PDFs, or images may not yet meet our current accessibility standards. We are progressively reviewing and updating older material. In the meantime, contact us and we will provide the information in an accessible format.
- Video and audio content. We work to caption and describe new video content. Where captions or transcripts are missing, please contact us so we can provide an accessible alternative.
Accessibility at Our Office
In addition to our digital accessibility efforts, our practice at 4001 W Alameda Ave #101, Burbank, CA 91505 is designed to welcome patients of all ages and abilities. If you need a specific accommodation for your appointment — such as written communication, extra time, a quiet room, a family member or caregiver present in the testing booth, or assistance navigating the office — please let us know in advance and we will do our best to make your visit comfortable.
